We have several difficult decisions to make. As many of you know, initially the goal was to open a transition home for girls that had to leave the orphanage, and had absolutely nowhere to go. Our plan, Sue’s and I, was to have the home opened in October 2013; however, God seems to have other plans. At this moment we are facing crossroads, and praying for wisdom from above. Please pray for us and with us, so that God might be glorified in either project we embark upon. Here is a quick picture of what is going on. As of now there are 2 girls that are pregnant at CP2 where the rules are that they have to leave before giving birth. These girls that are absolutely in a state where they are seeking to be loved, so they have decided to keep their babies. This is the crossroad. The 2 girls we were going to take into the transition home have decided that for now they will continue living at CP2, so we have the room to take in these other two pregnant girls. We recognize that it will be extremely difficult to have these 2 girls and their babies living in the apartment that Sue has rented. If God points us into the direction of opening our home to young, single, and helpless mothers, then we are willing to go that route. Lord may your will be done. We are simply your humble servants. This is our prayer!
With the change of focus our operation budget will change a bit, although the girls will receive social services for their babies, it is barely enough to cover formula and diapers. We will also need additional staff even with me serving as weekend house mom, parenting coach, tutor and spiritual adviser. see the financials page for details.
I leave you with the verses that I find as encouragement whenever I feel that I cannot go on. I wish everyone of you a blessed new year and may God continue to provide for you and your family. May you be a blessing for others!
Isaiah 43:1-5, But now, this is what the Lord says—he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel:“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;I have summoned you by name; you are mine. I will be with you;and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in my sight and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
